The purpose of vacuuming is to slow down the deterioration of the product. After the finished product is filled into the bottle or bags, the gas will be extracted through the machine to deprive the bacteria of a hotbed for survival. However, whether bacteria enter the product depends on the manufacturing process of the product and the storage condition when it is used. To avoid the growth of bacteria during use, preservatives are added to the raw materials at the beginning, but if they are not stored properly, they will still deteriorate.
After vacuuming, the oxygen inside the packing is reduced, which can prevent the oxidation of ingredients, stabilize the activity of ingredients, and inhibit the survival of microorganisms, thus extending the storage time. However, beauty products might in liquids and cannot be completely vacuumed like solids, so the extended time is limited.
“Compression pump” is not the basis for judging whether there is a vacuum or not, it still depends on whether there is an air hole at the bottom of the bottle. If there is no air hole, it is a general compressor pump design, which only relies on pressure to squeeze out the liquid. Another “sterile chamber” design, which claims to be safer than vacuum, is a hosepipe with a special cap design that allows the hosepipe’s body to gradually shrink after use. When using the squeeze, it does not pump back the air, so it does not allow the liquids to flow back and can prevent contamination.
The significance of such preservation is only to delay the deterioration time of the beauty and hardware products when you do not use it for a long time, but it is not effective to ensure the sterility of the products. After putting them into the vacuum bag, the active ingredients will be less exposed to oxygen and sunlight, which can extend the storage period for about one month.
